The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is set to become the first, large classical organization in the country to return from layoffs caused by the pandemic.

Tonight's performance will be the first by the orchestra since March 8th, when the COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancelation of events across Texas and the US.

The concert will also be in front of a mostly empty audience at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. The audience will be capped at 75 people in an auditorium that usually seats about 1,800.

Officials say there will not be an intermission and only about half of the orchestra will perform.

String players will be required to wear masks while they perform.
