DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Witnesses who were at the Dave & Buster's where an innocent bystander was shot Sunday say the shooting stemmed from an argument about a game prize.

One person was shot outside the Dave & Busters restaurant near Central Expressway and Walnut Hill in Dallas Sunday afternoon.

"The victim's family said it was two men outside arguing over a freaking stuffed animal," says Grant Stinchfield, who was at the restaurant with his son. "If you can imagine someone has no regard for human life. They're going to shoot someone over a stuffed animal? That's pathetic."

They say the two groups went outside. One person turned around and fired his gun.

"I didn't really see too much of the shooting; I just heard it," says Michael Lewis. "I was trying to get out of there and make sure my kids were safe."

Witnesses say an innocent bystander was hit in the leg.

"I grabbed a napkin, and I tied it around his leg," says Noe Gonzales, who was having lunch at the Dave & Buster's. "Then I applied pressure to the wound. I just squeezed it nice and tight."

Stinchfield says he was separated from his son. He says he started looking for his son and was prepared to engage an active shooter if necessary. Stinchfield says he saw the victim in the parking lot and started to get a tourniquet from his car.

"Somebody already had a tourniquet on him. That tourniquet was secured," he says. "He was a doctor, the victim, and it appears he's going to be okay."

The victim's family posted a picture online showing him give a thumbs up from his hospital bed. Carlos Chapa is a Navy veteran and medical director of Acupuncture & Integrative Medical Center. He is also president of the National Acupuncture Association.

Sunday evening, Dallas police said they had one person in custody, and they were still investigating.
