DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Starting today, Veterans can once again be buried with full military honors at the DFW National Cemetery.

For 79 days, burials have been allowed, but graveside services and military honors have not. Honors including uniformed service members, the playing of taps, and the folding of the American flag, have all been put on hold because of the pandemic. Not anymore.

"We're very excited about the opportunity to continue our service to our Veterans and their families," says Doug Maddox, Assistant Cemetery Director. "We're anxious to keep moving forward.

Maddox says those who were buried without honors are not being forgotten. He says staff is in the process of contacting family members to rescheduling missed ceremonies.
