DFW (1080 KRLD) - Animal shelters across North Texas are at capacity, and adopters are scarce these days.“We want to keep the capacity down,” said Randi Weinberg with the Denton Animal Shelter. “Most people during these times ... they’re concerned about feeding their animals. They’re concerned about feeding themselves.”The Denton Animal Shelter is offering emergency pet food to owners free of charge. Other shelters in Dallas and Mansfield are waiving all adoption fees.Weinberg says what the shelters really need, are foster families to take pets home temporarily.
