DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Do you know what apps are on your kids devices?  You should.

Kyle Berger, Chief Technology officer with the Grapevine-Colleyville school district says there are a number of apps out there that are dangerous for  kids.

For example, he says more and more children are using dark web apps that are connected with recent mass shootings. Apps like Mimi 4-Chan and Omnichan Pro go to message board where you can view violent content.

Berger says kids often hide their apps but parents can search the app store to see what apps have  been downloaded. And parents can download apps on their kids phones that can restrict content.

Berger's best advise, talk with your kids. If  you see an app on their phone you don't recognize, ask about it and have them show you how it's used.
