FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A Fort Worth couple are being checked out after their home caught fire this morning. Sadly, their dog didn't make it.
The fire erupted about 1:00 a.m. sending fire crews to the home on Alava Drive close to Fort Worth Southwest High School, near McCart and Alta Mesa.
When firefighters arrived they found an elderly couple had made it out of the house in time - although they were clearly suffering from smoke inhalation. They were transported to the hospital.
Back at the home, firefighters went in and found the couple's dog dead.
