FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A Fort Worth woman is recovering after being rescued from her burning home early this morning.Fort Worth Fire says firefighters were called to the home on Andrew Ave. on the city's east side at around 2:00 this morning."The crews did find a female victim who was unconscious and unresponsive as they brought her out of the house," says Mike Drivdahl, Fort Worth Fire spokesman. "MedStar was called for, and we assisted them and got that patient transported to Parkland, where she is receiving further care in serious but stable condition."The home sustained considerable damage."The back half of the home was well involved," says Drivdahl. "The front half of the home does have some heat and smoke damage."Exactly how the fire started is still being looked into."The cause is undetermined," says Drivdahl. "We don't believe that there is any foul play or any arson related to it."Drivdahl says the fire underscores the importance of always making sure you have working smoke detectors inside your home at all times."We are still investigating whether or not there were working smoke detectors at the time the fire started," he says.
