MENLO PARK, CALIF. (1080 KRLD) - Facebook is opening its wallet to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

The social network is committing $100 million in grants to help small businesses during this challenging time.

Locally, Facebook will be awarding more than $250,000 to 63 small businesses in Dallas and more than $300,000 to 75 in Fort Worth.

The grants are designed to help small businesses stay open, support their employees and serve their customers.

Facebook is prioritizing 50% of the global grant money to minority, women and veteran-owned businesses, which it says are disproportionately impacted by the crisis.

Applications are being accepted through May 6.
