FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - When the sports world starts ramping up again, all eyes will be on Fort Worth.
The PGA Tour has released its revised schedule, and the first tournament in the resumption of the 2020 season will be the Charles Schwab Challenge at The Colonial Country Club.
"Fort Worth and the Charles Schwab challenge will be at the center point of the sports-watching come mid-June," says Rob Hood, Charles Schwab Challenge tournament chairman.
Hood expects a huge worldwide television audience.
In fact, television coverage is the only way that even local fans will be able to enjoy this year's tournament since no fans will be admitted.
"That is unfortunate," says Hood, "but it's balanced by the fact that we do get to have the tournament and continue the tradition that we've had for over 70 some odd years."
The Charles Schwab Challenge was originally scheduled for May 21-24.
Now, contingent on the okay from health and government officials, it is now scheduled for June 11-14.
