FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) -  With Coronavirus fears spreading, the Fort Worth Convention Center is now open as a an overflow shelter for the homeless.

Officials believe the move is necessary because of "social distancing" requirements which state that cots must be separated by at least six feet. 


The Convention Center can host more than 350 people overnight.

It's the first time the building has been used as a shelter.
