The funeral home handling services for George Floyd says 6,400 people attended Monday's visitation. His funeral Tuesday is closed to the public.

The service at the church will be streamed online. Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy.

After the service at Fountain of Praise Church, Houston and Pearland police will join DPS in escorting his body to the cemetery in Pearland, about 15 miles away. He will be taken the last mile in a horse-drawn carriage.

Police are planning road closures in the area around the cemetery, but people can line the route of the procession. The church service begins at 11 a.m. The service at the cemetery will begin around 1 p.m.

Monday afternoon, Governor Greg Abbott attended the visitation, and he is planning to attend the funeral as well. He says he hopes to continue working with Floyd's family to develop legislation requiring additional training for police and on-going training.

"The pathway forward will not be taken over by politicians but will be led by family members. It will be led by victims. It will be led by the people who've suffered because of racism for far too long," Abbott said.

Joe Biden met with the family Monday and recorded a video to play at the service. He says he would not attend the funeral to prevent his secret service detail from becoming an issue.
