DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - As Dallas continues to try and get a handle on rising violent crime in the city, the community will say it's goodbyes to a little girl gunned down inside her home.
The funeral for 9-year-old Brandoniya Bennett is set for 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church .
She was killed last week at her apartment in what police describe as a gang related killing.
Investigators say the shooter was looking for someone at the East Dallas apartment complex where the shooting happened but fired into the wrong apartment.
19-year-old Tyrese Simmons is charged with capital murder for the killing and remain behind bars.
His bail is set at $500,000.
