The Garland ISD has announced they have a working plan for when schools reopen next month.
August 10th is when the Garland School District will resume classes, and for the first 3 weeks all classes will be online.
The district says for the the first few weeks students will get to know their teachers, their new schedules, and will learn the ins and outs of learning online.
District officials say only for families with extenuating circumstance will they be offering an in-person learning option.
Starting August 31st, students can either attend classes on campus or continuing learning online.
The district sent parents a commitment form where students can choose between online learning or in person, and district leaders want those forms returned by July 23rd so they can finalize plans.
The district says students will be allowed to switch from online to in-person learning, and vice versa, as the school year progresses.
