The Lakewood church posted on Twitter that it's in consideration of the public health emergency declared by Houston's mayor.
The post also indicated the church is doing this due to the fact that the church draws a large number of international visitors each week.
Lakewood says it will broadcast it's services online.
Church leaders also tweeted they hope to resume public services in the very near future .
