DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - An indictment has been handed-up in the June first murder of a transgender woman whose body was found in White Rock Lake.
22-year old Ruben Alvarado is accused of killing Jason Haslett, a transgender woman who took the name Chynel Lindsay.
The indictment says the attack happened through brute force with Lindsey being choked with Alvarado's hands and possibly a belt, and that she suffered some sort of blunt force trauma with an object that was not found.
At the time of the murder Dallas Police Renee Hall said the matter was being investigated with the FBI.
Alvarado is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
