Dallas Police Sunday Confirm Identity of the Man Shot to Death Friday

(KRLD) Dallas Police on Sunday confirmed 28-year-old Joshua Xavier Brown was the person killed outside a Dallas apartment complex Friday night. A police statement released today reads officers responded to a shooting call at 4606 Cedar Springs Road Friday Night.  Police found the victim, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. Witnesses reported seeing a silver four-door sedan leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed.  Brown reportedly met Botham Jean hours before he was killed by former DPD officer Amber Guyger.

Brown, testified in Guyger's trial about the September 2018 night that Jean was killed, saying he was in a hallway on the fourth floor, where he and Jean lived. Brown said he heard what sounded like "two people meeting by surprise" and then two gunshots. Guyger was sentended to ten years in prison. Dallas Police are asking for help regarding this murder, encouraging anyone with information to come forward. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect in the shooting.
