FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - With Coronavirus cases climbing at the federal prison hospital in Fort Worth, local leaders are increasingly frustrated at being kept in the dark.
The federal medical center for the US Bureau of Prisons now reports 622 cases.
Tarrant County Judge Glenn Whitley says getting simple information like the number of inmates and employees who've been tested has been like pulling teeth. He is calling on the feds to give an update every day.
Relatives of inmates are also frustrated, saying those who come down with Coronavirus should be released for compassionate reasons.
The Bureau of Prisons says it has, in fact, begun releasing some non-violent inmates early, hoping to slow the spread.
