Jump In Coronvirus Cases In Dallas County Attributed To Reporting "Glitch"

Dallas County Health Dept.

What first looked like an alarming jump in Dallas County Coronavirus cases on Saturday is now being attributed to a glitch in data reporting.

What was first believed to be a single-day record 1,267 cases was reported following four straight days of cases below 800.

But County Judge Clay Jenkins says that high number was due to a technical error that added to the true Saturday total several hundred cases that should have been reported over the previous four or five days.

With Sunday's figure of 800 cases, Dallas County now reports a total of 46,813 cases and 605 confirmed deaths since the pandemic began.
