KEMP (1080 KRLD) - A man suspected of shooting a Kemp police officer is now in the hospital after an eight-hour police impasse ended overnight.
Kemp police were helping the Mabank PD with a domestic disturbance call at a home Sunday when a man in the attic opened fire on them.
The wounded Kemp officer is in stable condition this morning.
After an eight-hour stand-off, the man was taken into custody about 12:30 a.m. but needed medical attention. He was taken to the same hospital where the officer is being treated.
