A man's now accused of a Dallas murder dating back to Independence Day weekend.
A man named Steven Calhoun was gunned down at a home in South Dallas during what police believe began as a drug transaction at a home on Echo Avenue.
The killer was gone when police arrived.
Calhoun was already dead and a woman with him was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound which she survived.
A man came to Dallas police saying he met an inmate named Daniel Esson while they were both locked up at Lew Sterrett on unrelated charges. He claimed to have information connecting Esson to the Echo Avenue murder.
A witness was then brought in who picked Esson out of a photo line-up.
