ALVARADO (1080 KRLD) - For the second straight day, DPS troopers are investigating a fatal crash near Alvarado.
Yesterday around 3 p.m. there was a head-on crash on Conveyor Drive near I-35, about eight miles north of Alvarado.
Troopers learned a pick-up heading east on Conveyor crossed into on-coming traffic and slammed head-on into an SUV driven by Alvarado resident Hugh Nixon who was killed on impact.
The driver of the pick-up was rushed to JPS but her condition has not been released.
Investigators don't know why she crossed the center line.
Just a little more than 24 hours earlier and about five miles to the east a car crashed into a bridge railing, killing two 17-year-old sisters from Alvarado.
