One person has died after being struck by a car in east Fort Worth last night.
It began around 10:00 p.m. when police saw a car driving very fast and very erratically on I-30 near Loop 820.
The officers tried to catch up with the car to pull it over, according to officials.
But just as they were catching up they saw the driver had smashed into a pole and the car was on fire.
The driver managed to get out and was trying to get away, sprinting across the west-bound lanes of I-30 where he was struck and killed.
Investigators have no idea why he was driving so carelessly or why he ran for it after the crash.
