MANSFIELD (1080 KRLD) - A teenager from Mansfield rescued his 11 year old neighbor from a burning home Monday night. The fire started at a house in the 4300 block of Gleneagles Drive about 9:20 p.m.

Gabriel Vivoni, 17, was driving home from swim practice when he noticed orange light flickering in the garage of a house. He says he rang the doorbell, but no one answered.

He says he continued to his house a few doors down.

"At the same time, I was calling 911. Then I came back over to the house. I ran into the house through the garage," Vivoni says.

Inside, he says he found one of his neighbors, an 11 year old boy. Vivoni says the boy did not know the house was on fire.

"The boy was like, 'What's going on?' I was like, 'Hey, man, there's a fire in your house. Right now, we gotta get out of here,'" Vivoni says.

He says the fire had spread into the garage, so he walked the boy out through the front door. While they walked out the door, he says the boy's parents arrived home and his own parents had come to the house.

"As soon as the firemen came, they got it under control in the garage, but then it started amping up in the roof, and it spread through the entire house," Vivoni says.

Mansfield Fire says no one was hurt. They have not identified the cause of the fire.
