UPDATE (2:37 p.m.) - The lockdown has been lifted at Midlothian High School. School officials say the campus will dismiss at the normal time, and buses will run on their normal schedule.
MIDLOTHIAN (1080 KRLD) - Midlothian High School has been placed on lockdown after receiving a tip about a possible threat.
In a statement, the school says "Out of an abundance of caution the campus is currently on lock-down as the situation is being investigated."
Grand Prairie police says they are on scene helping Midlothian police with this.
The school district says there are a lot of rumors circulating about this and want to point out - students and staff are safe.
UPDATE 11:47 AM There are many rumors circulating, and through the investigation process, none have been substantiated at this time. We will continue to keep you posted. Students and staff remain safe. As soon as the investigation is complete, MPD and MISD will provide an update.
