After the Major League Baseball players' union rejected yet another proposal from the owners, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said he will unilaterally impose a 60-game regular season for 2020.
In making the announcement, Manfred also said he would like players to report to expanded Spring Training by July 1.
With the two sides unable to agree on a new deal, a previous agreement approved in March allows the commissioner to go forward with a revised schedule that would be unlike anything the game has seen in its long history.
