FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - As businesses in North Texas decide whether to stay closed or open with 25 percent capacity, museums are making the same choice.

At Addison Airport, the Cavanaugh Flight Museum did open Friday morning.

"Of course, we're all tired of sitting at home. You can only do so many puzzles and watch so many movies," says Executive Director Doug Jeanes.

Jeanes says the museum has set out hand sanitizer, but since the museum is in several hangars, they have an open space. He says the museum has set out paths for people to follow, so visitors are more likely to move in the same direction during self-guided tours.

He also says the size of the hangars is likely to stop the museum from reaching capacity limits.

Jeanes says the museum had an increase in attendance in the first weeks after schools were closed and restrictions were announced.

"Then as things started getting a little tougher, we decided we knew to close down. Of course, it became mandatory after that," he says.

He says the museum has opened doors to the hangars to allow for more air flow.

Most other museums in North Texas have stayed closed.

In Dallas, the Frontiers of Flight Museum has not announced a date to reopen, nor has the Perot Museum.

In Fort Worth, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Modern Art Museum and Fort Worth Museum of Science and History are all still closed with no dates announced to reopen.
