DALLAS (KRLD) - Viral videos of kids performing the "Skull Breaker Challenge" on TikTok are raising a lot of concern with local doctors.
"You have three people standing right next to each other. They just into the air. Two people on the outside kick inward and while that middle person is in the air they lose their footing and can fall backwards," says Dr. Elizabeth Thomas, a pediatrician with Diamond Physicians in Dallas. "The person in the middle can sustain life-threatening injuries. They can get a skull fracture, neck fracture, paralysis or even death."
Thomas says parents need to be aware of what their kids are looking at on social media and parents should let their kids know there are consequences to what they are posting.
She recommends using the media use plan on HealthyChildren.org. The site gives guidelines on when their kids can use their devices.
