On Tuesday, Dallas County matched its single-day record for new coronavirus infections, with 298.  The county also reported seven additional deaths related to COVID-19.

DFW Hospital Council President/CEO Stephen Love told KRLD News an uptick in local COVID-19 hospitalizations has been noted this week.

Love said it is too early to classify the latest information as a trend, but he added it is concerning.

Local officials are also watching closely to see if the recent racial justice demonstrations lead to an increase in new infections.

Love also provided an update on the local supply of the drug remdesivir, used to treat coronavirus patients, as he spoke with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
