Two of the five drawings depict police officers alongside drawings of racists like a slave trader, a slave owner and a KKK member.
The cartoon has drawn anger from parents and police officers such as Eric Willadsen with the Richardson Fraternal Order of Police who has a child attending school in the Wylie district.
He says once the cartoon was shared with middle school students, it cannot be un-seen.
A Wylie district spokesman has apologized, saying: "...we are trying to work with them because we truly do value our police partners." The same cartoonist has created other works demeaning police -- including one implying that federal officers wear Nazi uniforms underneath their camouflage.
