PLANO (1080 KRLD) - Call it a subtle way to remind of the importance of social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The city of Plano is sending out employees from various municipal departments, including Parks & Recreation and libraries, to serve as "friendly monitors" and remind park visitors of the current distancing regulations.
Plano Parks & Recreation Director Dr. Ron Parks said if the current rules are followed, access to parks and other public spaces can continue. But, he added, if residents do not cooperate, those amenities may need to be closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Dr. Parks talked about the "friendly monitor" program in Plano with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
