Plano homeowners may see a slight drop in their property tax bill next year.

Plano City Manager Mark Israelson's proposed budget holds the line on the current property tax rate, and he says that slightly lower appraised property values could mean that many homeowners will actually see their bill go down.

Israelson says the city is expecting significant drops in sales tax revenue and money from hotel taxes, so they've already frozen vacant positions and postponed some projects.

The Plano City Council is scheduled to vote on the city budget on September 14th.
