A Plano police officer was involved in a fatal shooting this morning following a crash and altercation.
Plano Officer David Tilley says the unnamed officer involved in the shooting was responding to a car crash around 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Legacy Drive and Independence Parkway.
Tilley says the officer retreated, that's when the woman ran to the other car and started stabbing the other crash victim.
Tilley says the officer shot the woman with his service weapon, killing her.
The other unidentified woman was rushed to the hospital with multiple severe stab wounds. Her condition is unknown.
Tilley says the officer was stabbed in the shoulder, he's also in the hospital but is expected to recover.
