GRAND PRAIRIE (KRLD) - Grand Prairie police say a 17-year-old was drunk and didn't have a license when he caused a crash that killed an unborn baby.
Frank Alvarez was speeding around the intersection of Great Southwest Parkway and Sherman Street on Sunday evening, according to police.
Police say Alvarez was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant when he ran the red light, and slammed into a 2012 Dodge pickup truck.
A 73-year-old man who was in the truck remains in critical condition.
A 17-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi went into labor and delivered a stillborn girl at the hospital.
Alvarez faces charges of intoxication manslaughter, injury to a child, intoxication assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of injury to an elderly person.
