IRVING (KRLD) - A security officer at the Islamic School of Irving has been arrested for sexually assaulting a third grader.
Syed Hashmi, 24, was booked after the student made an outcry to a parent April 23, police say.
A police report says the incident happened between August of 2016 and June of 2017.
"The investigation is still going on, but this particular outcry occurred a few years ago," said Irving Police Officer Robert Reeves. "The outcry was just now, recently made."
The police report said the victim's mother was able to identify Hashmi.
