DALLAS (KRLD) - DART light rail service on three lines has been disrupted this afternoon by problems with a power line at one of the stations. DART is using shuttle buses to get passengers to their final stops.

The cold temperatures overnight caused overhead high-power lines to contract. They were hit by a train going through Mockingbird Station and damaged. Crews have been working to repair the damage, but train service into and out of that station has been stopped while they continue their efforts.

"The goal is to have everything finished this evening so we can have service tomorrow morning," said Gordon Shattles, Director of External Relations for DART.

Passengers on the Red Line, Orange Line, and Blue Line will be affected this afternoon and evening.

"If you're heading home this evening, you'll be exiting at Pearl/Arts District Station and taking a shuttle bus to the Lovers Lane Station - with stops at stations along the way," said Shattles. "For our Blue Line passengers, you'll exit at Pearl as well and they'll be taking you to the White Rock Lake Station.

DART is urging passengers to sign up for Rider Alerts on its web site.

"We also have DART police and personnel at each one of the platforms making sure people know which bus to get on," said Shattles. "Our goal is to have everything going again before tomorrow morning."
