The tradition of "Champions Day" continues Saturday, July 25, at Hawaiian Falls in Mansfield, Roanoke and Waco.
Special needs individuals and their families get exclusive access to the waterparks from 9-10 a.m. before the general opening at 10:30. The Champions get free admission, while their families/caregivers can get in at reduced prices. They are allowed to stay and enjoy the fun all day if they wish.
To be sensitive to the needs of some Champions, Hawaiian Falls turns down the music and adds more staff to assist families.
KRLD's Chris Sommer talked with Hawaiian Falls Managing Director Ryan Forson about "Champions Day," and got an update on how the parks have fared this summer while operating under the current COVID-19 restrictions.
