FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - With the coronavirus crisis showing no signs of ending anytime soon, school districts are keeping in close contact with their students as schools remain closed.
Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Kent Scribner posted a video on YouTube to tell students that schools are now closed until further notice and urged students to continue practicing social distancing.
"This is a challenge for everyone, and it's especially difficult for teenagers who want to be with their friends," Dr. Scribner said in the video. "But I know the teenagers of Fort Worth ISD — they're strong and they can rise to the occasion. And like all teens, they can be stubborn. Now we need them and everyone to stubbornly stay home."
The Arlington ISD, meanwhile, has set up a pair of hotlines to help students and parents cope with the ongoing closure.
The student hotline (682-867-9416) is manned by school counselors, while the community hotline (682-867-9417) is manned by social workers.
