DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Several schools in North Texas will be closed today because of the storms overnight.

Classes have been canceled Monday October 21st at the following Dallas ISD campuses: Thomas Jefferson High School, Cary Middle School, Cigarroa Elementary School, Pershing Elementary School, Walnut Hill Elementary School and Burnet Elementary School


Also closed: Caillet ES, Dealey Foster ES, Franklin MS, Hexter ES, Hillcrest HS, Kramer ES, Joe May ES, Francisco Medrano MS, Thelma Page Richardson ES, Roosevelt HS, Twain ES, South Oak Cliff at Village Fair.

The following schools will cancel classes Monday, October 21:- David G. Burnet Elementary School- Edward H. Cary Middle School- Leonides Gonzalez Cigarroa Elementary School- John J. Pershing Elementary School- Thomas Jefferson High School- Walnut Hill Elementary School

All Richardson ISD schools are closed today and district activities are cancelled.

Due to substantial storm damage, power outages and unsafe conditions, all RISD schools will be closed on Monday, October 21. All school and district activities and will also be cancelled on Monday. At this time, RISD anticipates all schools being open on Tuesday, October 22.

Electricity is out at some Garland ISD schools. Classes at the following campuses are canceled today:

 Dorsey Elementary, Park Crest Elementary, Williams Elementary and Sam Houston Middle School.

As a result of last night's storms, electricity is out at Park Crest Elementary School, Williams Elementary School and Houston Middle School in Garland ISD. Classes at these campuses are canceled today, Monday, Oct. 21, 2019. All other GISD schools are in session.

In Rockwall, Reinhardt Elementary will be closed today.

Due to last night's storms, Reinhardt Elementary will be closed today. Please stay safe as officials clean debris from the roads and work to restore electricity.

Due to this evening's storm resulting in a widespread power outage, Midlothian ISD is canceling classes tomorrow, Oct. 21. Principals, assistant principals, custodial and maintenance, along with L.A. From the Dallas County Community College District:  

The main campus of Richland College, located at 12800 Abrams Road, Dallas, is closed Monday, Oct., 21 due to power outages. The LeCroy Center, located on Richland's campus, is also closed. The Garland Campus, located at 675 W. Walnut St, Garland, is open.

Hillcrest, South Oak Cliff, Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson high schools are also closed due to storm damage and power outages.  Dual credit students from these high schools will not be able to attend college classes at these locations or at Brookhaven, El Centro, Mountain View, and Richland Colleges.
