HOUSTON (KRLD) - The number of severely neglected horses being taken to the Houston SPCA just keeps growing.
The Harris County Precinct One Constable's office seized one horse that was so emaciated it could barely stand. Julie Keunstle with the Houston SPCA says a stallion was tied to a tree and had been abandoned for around a month.
Keunstle says, "he could no longer stand on his own. Fortunately, after a couple of days at the SPCA he's able to get some exercise for those joints."
While the horses recover at the Houston SPCA, Keunstle has this advice, "anytime you see an animal in distress, please report it."
