Some businesses across North Texas are shutting down once again because of the spike in COVID-19 cases.

From bars and restaurants to grocery stores and gyms, many businesses are seeing a surge in coronavirus cases..

Cheer Athletics in Plano recently closed after staff and students began testing positive for the virus.

Angela Rogers is co-owner of the facility. She tells NBC 5 they were doing everything right, going above and beyond CDC guidelines, but some athletes were allowed to take off their masks for practice.

She says in hindsight that was a mistake.

Now she says she’s sharing the story with other business owners so they don’t make similar mistakes.

Cheer Athletics will remain closed through next week.
