
Aside from businesses being hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, colleges could potentially lose hundreds of millions of dollars.
Some students have petitioned for refunds and even filed lawsuits to get back some of their tuition fees as they have been pushed off campus and online for learning.
Greta Anderson is a reporter with Inside Higher Ed, and speaks with KRLD’s Kristin Diaz about how the pandemic has impacted universities financial already and what they are in for in the future.
Anderson says students are not happy having to pay large tuition fees for a learning experience they didn’t select.
She says universities are already gearing up for a hard hit in the fall financially as registration numbers are low.
Also, sports events such as March Madness have been already a big financial blow for some universities that rely on extra income during big sporting events.
