Two weeks after the State Fair of Texas was canceled, the next domino has toppled at Fair Park.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference has now canceled the traditional State Fair Classic football game pitting Grambling against Prairie View A&M.
Played at the Cotton Bowl during the Fair's 24-day run, the Classic was first played in Dallas in 1925. The Panthers and Tigers have met 33 times.
They may play again in the Spring, though. The SWAC press release says the conference is trying to figure out how to play Fall sports in the Spring of 2021 but the schedule is not ready to release.
Meanwhile, the Texas vs OU game, the Red River Rivalry, is still on the Cotton Bowl calendar for October 10th, even without the hoopla of the State Fair.
However, the Big 12 and the NCAA have not even announced whether there will be football at all this Fall.
