FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The Tarrant County Commissioners have voted to close "non-essential businesses" because of Coronavirus fears but have stopped short of calling for a complete shelter-in-place order similar to that going into effect in Dallas County.
"Non-essential businesses" include everything from shopping malls and tattoo shops to hair salons and massage parlors.
Bars, lounges and theaters had already been shut down last week.
Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley says the Commissioners Court opted to wait on a shelter-in-place order after consulting with mayors, hospital administrators and other leaders across the county.
