SOUTHLAKE (1080 KRLD) - A 15-year-old girl has been rescued from a human trafficking ring in Tarrant County.
Sheriff's investigators believe the girl was smuggled into the country from Guatemala. Reports say she was told she owed the smugglers $10,000 and was forced to work in a Southlake fast-food restaurant until the debt was paid.
Deputies arrested a man who claimed to be her father but they believe that's a lie.
Cesar Valdez-Perez was jailed on human trafficking charges. He bonded out but was immediately detained by federal immigration agents.
