DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A stash of medical supplies found in Dallas will go to help thousands of emergency workers across the state.
Volunteers with Texas Baptist Men stumbled across an entire pallet of N-95 medical masks while sorting through supplies in their warehouse. With the number of COVID-19 cases on the rise, these masks are in high demand.
"We're getting requests every day from local EMS, fire and police stations looking for these masks," said John Hall with TBM.
Hall says TBM immediately decided to donate the 15,000 masks.
Today, volunteers are driving to Austin to deliver 10,000 masks and 2,000 bio-hazard suits to Emergency Management. Those supplies will be distributed across the state based on need. 5,000 masks are being donated to emergency workers in Dallas.
"This donation is worth, conservatively in this market, about $100,000 dollars," Hall said.
Hall says he knows the value of the masks and he's sure they'll be put to use.
