Harris County Deputy Thomas Gilliland says 19 year old Caitlyn Smith was babysitting the 10 year old boy Tuesday night.
She found a gun in the apartment and started taking selfies with it. That's when a bullet hit the boy in abdomen.
He's in the hospital but is expected to recover.
Giilliland says, "It's a miracle we did not have a homocide."
Smith is charged with injury to a child.
