HOUSTON (KRLD) - A couple who had just left a Houston-area hospital where a loved one had died were killed in a drive-by shooting early Wednesday.
Investigators say Ramiro and Rosalva Reyes had just come home from a hospital where the woman's mother had died when the shooting occurred.
Jason Spencer with the Harris County Sheriff's office says someone drove by and shot them to death and injured the couple's son-in-law. He is recovering at a hospital. The bullets also struck a number of homes and cars.
Spencer says, "It was just an egregious act of violence that took the lives of this couple who had lived in this neighborhood for quite some time. They had other relatives who live in the neighborhood. We are just looking for any indication for what could have led up to this and who could be responsible. We want to get these people off the streets."
