DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A former physician has been convicted of capital murder in the death of a Highland Park rape victim who died decades after the attack.
George Guo received an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole because prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.
Last year, Katherine Bascone died 30 years after being raped and strangled in her own bedroom. The strangulation left her blind and unable to stand or speak.
Friends and doctors said she suffered terrible pain all those years.
