Texas Governor Greg Abbott's reopening of the state continues today with movie theaters opening their doors for the first time since the pandemic began.
AMV, the world's largest movie theater chain, will reopen its 49 Texas locations, including 17 in North Texas. They'll be open at 50 percent capacity.
Plano-based Cinemark will also begin a four-phased reopening starting with five theaters in North Texas. The chain plans to have all of its more than 500 theaters reopened by July 17th.
Studio Movie Grill in Dallas is opening in a similar manner, with a list of new rules and precautions.
Tonya Mangels, Marketing Director for Studio Movie Grill, says it is offering more contactless options to order food and that the theaters will be deep cleaned on a regular basis.
Mangels says theaters are working hard to keep customers safe.
