Irving Police are searching for the sender of a racist letter threatening to quote “shoot mercilessly” in workplaces, parks and playgrounds.

The letter, which says "Chinese" and "Indian" people are taking American jobs and asks them to leave the country, was sent to an Indian family living in an apartment complex on Ranch View Drive.

Officer Robert Reeves with Irving police says it appears to be an isolated incident, even so, police are taking it very seriously.

"It's very alarming for everyone and every family that may have small children," Reeves says. "We just don't want this type of rhetoric being pushed out in the City of Irving.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help find the sender to come forward immediately.
